Welcome to
ANNAPOLIS
or Naptown, as the locals say
While you're in town, we hope you have a chance to explore this beautiful city we call home. Located on the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Severn River, Annapolis is a unique mix of Revolutionary era history and maritime charm. Once a political capital and port of entry, Annapolis has more original 18th century buildings standing today than any other city in the United States. Annapolis is also home to many first-rate restaurants, many serving fresh seafood arriving daily from the Chesapeake.
Activities
First Sunday Arts Festival
On most first Sundays of the month, you will find Deanna and Jonathan here, working the Handmade by Deanna booth! Enjoy live entertainment and the works of 100 local and regional artists as you stroll along the first block of West and Calvert Streets. Local restaurants set up outside cafes that are perfect for people-watching and an afternoon bite to eat. Free parking for the family-friendly event is available at the state parking garage on the corner of Calvert and Bladen Streets.
Annapolis City Dock
Stroll along the Annapolis City Dock and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Annapolis waterfront is known to local boaters as "Ego Alley" because it is the weekend and evening scene of a steady parade of expensive yachts.

The festival includes 200+ entertainers, ten stages, a 3,000-seat jousting arena, 122 craft shops, 48 food and beverage emporiums, games, attractions and 85 acres of complimentary parking. Let merriment abound!

U.S. Naval Academy
Much of the history of Annapolis is intertwined with the history of the Navy and the Naval Academy. The lush grounds of the Academy reflect the beauty of Beaux Arts architecture and historical monuments commemorating naval events. Take a tour, or walk the grounds and enjoy a spectacular view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. All guests over 18 must show a valid ID to enter.

Food
Boatyard
For the classic Annapolitan experience, head to Boatyard Bar & Grill in Eastport, just across Annapolis Harbor. Their menu features traditional Chesapeake fare - crab cakes, crab dip, lobster rolls, a raw bar and more. We especially love the crab melt sand which served on a pretzel roll. Yummy!
Iron Rooster
This is Deanna & Jonathan's favorite brunch place. Everything on the menu is fantastic, but we highly recommend the breakfast burger, breakfast burrito, chicken & waffles, and chicken with a biscuit. Located at City Dock by the water in Annapolis, you should get there early to avoid the line!
